OUR STORY

Every run, a new discovery

After retiring from a fulfilling career as an internal auditor in the financial sector, I finally had the time to dedicate to a cause close to my heart: supporting children’s education — from those with Special Educational Needs to young learners in rural communities and underserved regions around the world.

What I didn’t expect was that this new chapter would lead me all the way to the snow-capped mountains of China.

A LEAP OF FAITH

The spark came during a Silk Road holiday to Kashgar, where I was captivated by the breathtaking beauty and vibrant culture of Xinjiang. Encouraged by a friend to experience the region’s legendary winter, I took a leap of faith.

Having dabbled in snowboarding years ago, I returned to the snow with a clear goal: to truly learn. I downloaded Xiaohongshu, connected with a dedicated local coach, and committed to the process. Over ten unforgettable days, I fell completely in love with the sport.

Embracing this new challenge at 60 reminded me of the pure joy of learning — proof that age is never a barrier to chasing fresh passions.

Tropical Heart, Winter Soul

Snowboarding should be 43.1 Adventures was founded in Singapore — a tropical home far from the snow, yet close to our hearts. Growing up between Malaysia and Singapore, we wanted to bring the thrill of snowboarding back to fellow tropical adventurers.

Our Singapore base reflects values we carry onto the mountain: clarity, care, and trust. We combine that spirit with the raw joy of Asia’s winter playgrounds, offering personalized coaching experiences that let every rider discover their own rhythm on the slopes.

They say snowboarding is for the young, but I believe it’s for the young at heart. Discovering this sport at 60 reminded me that it’s never too late to embrace something new. With patience, guidance, and respect for the mountain, the ride can still surprise you — and that joy is what we want to share.
